DO YOU EVER THINK ABOUT TRAVELING TO..

Africa??
I do. And I believe the safari tour alone would be worth it.
I met an amazing Madison woman back in mid-January who is there right now; but her trip is far from "fun."
Susan Gold is a nurse by trade and is taking 9-months leave from her job here; to work with orphaned children in Africa.
These children are orphans because their parents died of aids.
These children also have aids.

Susan recently told friends here; the kids don't have anything of their own.
She thought a few books might be nice.
Students from Prairie View Middle School in Sun Prairie found out about it and made a book donation drive their community project.
And as we showed in our follow up story--- there's now more than 4-thousand books ready to be sent to Africa.
Amazing.
The books will go to the kids first. Whatever is left will help start two library's--- one at the orphanage and the other at a girl's school. It's currently a school without a library!

You can learn more by checking out this web-site: www.nyumbani.org
The photo's of the children Susan is working with on here as well as stories about them.
You can also help by clicking on the "USA" icon on the far right side of the front page.
Any donations will help get the books to Africa; hopefully while Susan is still there to hand them out.
In this case.. a book really can mean the world to a child.
