..our pending agreement with the new "My Network T.V."

You may recall in a post about a month ago---- I told you about the announcement regarding the shut-down of both the W.B. and UPN Networks.
It's scheduled to happen by the end of summer and will include the end of UPN programming on cable channel 14 and satellite here in the Madison area.
However; it does NOT mean the end of News-3 @ 9 on that same channel.

Many of you have called or e-mailed about the changes ahead-- and here's what I'm learning about it:
Our station operates channel-14... and we will be joining "My Network T.V." starting
September 5th.
"My Network T.V." is billing itself as a marked alternative to the other new network being formed: "The C.W." It will be a combination of whatever survives the WB and UPN
shut-down.
"My Network T.V." will offer different-types of television shows; including several new drama's, similar to "Spanish Telenovelas." (Meaning, each episode is like reading a short novel. It's comparable to a soap opera but the pace is much faster and the show itself is designed different than most television programs in the U.S.)
The national programmers of "My Network T.V." are also interested in developing some new reality-type of shows; as well as some "surprises" to fill about 12 prime-time hours each week.

What excites us about this new agreement----- the availability for more local programs!
We are being encouraged to offer our viewers more news and sports coverage...
more community affairs and local talk...
things we hope will matter to you!
And yes; this is where our devotion to the News-3 @ 9 product will be able to continue as well.

It's all in its creation period; but if you have any thoughts or ideas about what you'd like to see.. send me an e-mail.
It's called "My Network T.V." for a reason-- and we want to provide you with more of what
will make this a station you'll want to tune to every night.

Keep watching News-3 @ 9 and this blog for updates!
