THANKS FOR WATCHING!

We're well into our second week of News 3 @ 9 on UPN-14--- and YOU are watching!
Thanks!

I feel lucky enough to be able to meet many of you; both professionally and personally.
The particular incident that stands out in my mind from the past weekend---
involves some young women at the Willy Street Fair on the Near-East Side of Madison.
We were all there with our individual group of friends---
but at one point one of the young women approached to tell me she; and her friends,
like our 9 p.m. News! It's great to get your feedback.

It leads me to the topic of the number of wonderful festivals and fairs happening in this
area.
Every weekend; and even during the week--- there's so many choices and amazing
places to sample the culture of the various neighborhoods here.
It's truly a special slice of life in this area.

Several of the gatherings also include support for both the hurricane victims and the
Stoughton-area tornado.
We continue to do heart-wrenching pieces about all involved who have lost homes...
and in some cases jobs.. or worse.
I had the opportunity to interview a Chaplain from our area.. who provided emotional
and spiritual support in both situations. But it's the "little" victims---- the young
girl he told me about who didn't understand why she couldn't go back to her house.
All she wanted to retrieve??
Her stuffed teddy bear.
The Chaplain's preparing to return--- he's always on call for this area's disasters..
but is ready to go back to the Gulf or any other Hurricane-Hit area's that need
his help.

I hope what you are doing in your life; makes you happy and content.
It's what I'm learning from all of this--- life and the opportunities it presents;
really can be too short.
