I've also had the opportunity this week to cover a couple of important stories.
One involves a Madison Nurse who just returned from volunteer work with the sick in New Orleans. She simply describes the area as looking like a 3rd-World Country.
She also says the people there are getting all kinds of diseases from the bacteria-filled water
they had to wade through to safety.
But she says the kindness the people showed her and the other volunteers was amazing!
And she left the area with the same warm feeling she's always had for New Orleans in
the past.
What a job she took on--- my hat goes off to her and all the other volunteers!

We also learned about several attempted child enticements/abductions-- the first
in the Fitchburg/Verona area at a bus stop.
Luckily; the children ran away when the suspect offered to give them a ride.
Another attempt occured on Thursday; this time on a Madison playground,
when a man asked some young girls if they'd help him walk his dog.
He didn't have a dog.
So they ran and told the teacher.
Parents are now being told to talk to their kids about "Stranger Danger."
Police are asking everyone to keep an eye out to try and catch this person before
something happens.
